Heirarchical structure
A pyramid structure used in large buineses, the higher up you go the more responsibility. Manager at top
Flat structure
Used by small organisations, few levels of pyramid
Matrix
This helps get people together who have particular specialist skills and placing them in team projects to complete tasks.
Entrepreneurial
This is used by small businesses where decisions have to be made quickly, such as news papers. Most of the decision making is made by one or two managers
Centralised
Like entrepreneurial structure or control and decision-making lies with the most senior director or managers. Low people have little authority this structure relies heavily on key individuals who make the decisions with the organisation all other staff are there to carry out the instructions for the senior staff
De centralised
Control and decision-making is delegated to departments which relieves senior management from day-to-day task and burdens. Employees are given responsibility which helps them get motivated and carry out tasks quickly
