The media were allowed to travel with the soliders into war creating a ‘living room war’ as many saw the war from the TV.

In the 1960s a lot of students became part ov the counter culture movement - they refused to live by the cultural rules of their society

SDS - It had 3000 memeber over 80 collage campuses.
They angered many people because they opposed the war and openly supported North Vietnam

The soliders led by Leutenant Calley killed all the people amd animals in my lai village.
They claimed they have been ordered to do so but after a cover up and an investigation the truth emerged.
What was the publics reaction to the My Lai massacre
They were not sure to believe at first but once they saw the images on the news there was a public outcry.
Lt Calley was bought to trial and convicted of killing 22 civilians

After Nixon announced the invation of Cambodia it sparked off serval protests.

After National guards had bricks thrown at them, they opened fire and killed 4 students
