Operations of systems Flashcards
Why do we need rudders
controls yaw axis of flight, induces drag to stablize aircraft.
describe your engine
Lycoming O320. 4 cylinder, Air-cooled, horizontally opposed, carborated, naturally asparated. 150 HP at 2700 RPM.
describe the electrical system
12 volt battery, 14 volt system. battery supplies charge for starting magnetos.
you fly through swarm of bugs and airspeed reads zero. what is the problem?
bugs have clogged the pitot tube.
you fly from an area of low pressure into high pressure. how does this affect your altimeter if you do not adjust?
your altimeter will indicate a lower altitude than your true altitude. (low to high, youre in the sky. High to low look out below.)
additional equipment for flying in mountains
find answer
How does the airspeed indicator work
Reads ram air data from pitot tube
How for altimeter work
Uses air data from static port which expands and contracts aneroids to give altitude
