Sympathetic ophthalmia
What happens in sympathetic ophthalmia?
Exposure of antigens in one eye
Causes autoimmune reaction in both eyes
Inflammation in both eyes
May lead to bilateral blindness
What can happen with conjunctival small object penetration?
Ulceration
Blisters
What can happen with sub tarsal small object penetration?
Blisters
What should be done when suspecting an intra ocular foreign body?
ALWAYS X-ray
What happens to the eye in an acid burn?
Coagulation of proteins

Rapid penetration
