are those that are needed in small ‘trace’ amounts; Vitamins and Minerals.

The intake of less nutrients than what is required.

The intake of more nutritents than what is required.

he state of the body resulting from the intake and use of nutrients or the condition of health as it relates to the intake and use of food by the body

This involves conducting a number of laboratory tests to find out what is happening to the body internally.

Clinical assessment or physical examination reveals signs of nutrient deficiency or toxicity

what is Epidemiological data?
this represents data on the incidence or prevalence of nutrition - related health problems.
what are some good indicators of nutritional status ?
Weight is within normal range for height and age.
Muscles are firm.
Limbs are straight.
Posture is erect and well balanced.
what are some poor indicators of nutritional status ?
Failure of children to thrive
Sudden non-voluntary weight loss
Obesity
Constipation
what is Anthropometric?
the measurement of the human body – primarily height, weight and areas of the body such as hip, waist and upper arms.
