Newton's laws Flashcards
force
push or pull exturted on a object in order to change the object
motion
a change in position over time
net force
the combination of all the forces action on an object
speed
distance traveld per rate of time
Speed= distance / time
velocity
the speed and direction of an object
accseleration
the rate at which velocity changes over time
Newton’s first law
an object at rest will remain at rest and an object and an object in motion will remain in motion unlesss acted upon by an outside force
newtons second law
force= mass x accseleration
newtons third law
for every action there is an equial but opposite reaction
inertia
the tenisy of an object to resist being moved or if the object is moving to resist a change in speed or direction until an outside force acts on the object
friction
the force that resists motion
mass
the amount of matter in an object
gravity
an atractive force that exist between all objects that have mass
