Controls movement, posture, and mood. Plays a central role is positive reinforcement and dependency
GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid)
Controls motor control, vision, and other cortical functions. it also regulates anxiety. Turns brain off
Glutamate
Major excitatory neurotransmitter associated with learning and memory. Turns brain on
Serotonin
Regulates body temperature, sleep, mood, appetite, and pain.
Norepinephrine
Important for attentiveness, emotions, sleeping, dreaming, and learning. Causes vasodilation and tachycardia
