we might freeze to the extent we cant pick up on environmental cues.
what does weapon focus affect mean?
focusing mainly on the weapon rather than any other details of the criminal
what did Loftus et al. do?
there were 2 experiments. 1st people are shown pics of people queuing in taco time then a man pulls out a gun.
The 2nd(control) did the same thing but the man pulled out a check not a gun. they were given 20 questions of what happened and were asked to identify the man between 12 pics.

39% of people who saw the check correctly identify the person and 11% for the gun
