In a power, the number of times the base is used as a factor. In 5 cubed, the exponent is 3.

To multiply a sum by a number, you can multiply each addend by the same number and add the products

Numbers in a problem or related numbers that are easy to work with mentally

A useful way of writing large or small numbers ex. 10,100,1000,etc.

The answer to a multiplication problem

When you are writing a power 3 represents cubed as an exponent
Base
The number that is going to be raised to a power ex. 8^4
8 is the base
