A

a type of non volatile computer storage medium that retains data even when the power is turned off.

18
Q

what are some examples of devices that use flash memory?

A

USB, SSD, Memory cards, embedded systems, smartphones and tablets etc

19
Q

What is UEFI?

A

Unified Extensible Firmware Interface. A modern replacement for the older BIOS.

20
Q

What does UEFI do?

A

it serves as a bridge between a computers hardware and its operating system. It provides a more flexible and feature rich alternative to BIOS.

21
Q

what is fast startup?

A

a feature in modern versions of windows operating system that aims to reduce the time for a computer to start up from a powered off or hibernated state.

22
Q

How can you bypass fast start up?

A
  1. press down the shift key while pressing restart
  2. or you can enable or disable this in settings, update and security, recovery, advanced startup, restart now
  3. theres also a system configuration for restarting your system and that can be found under msconfig
23
Q

What is another way to interrupt the normal boot?

A

interrupt the normal boot three times.

24
Q

What is a chassis fan?

A

also known as a case fan or system fan. a component in a computer thats responsible for cooling the internal components within the computer case (or chassis).
