Q

what are the steps of handling needles

A

  • immediately cover needle with plastic shield after use using the 1-handed scoop re-capping technique
  • know where an uncovered needle is at all times
  • if needle becomes contaminated, then recap and dispose and replace needle
  • place all contaminated needles in approved sharps containers
23
Q

after how many penetrations should a need be replaced

A

3 to 4
