distrust of others and suspicion about others in a negative way
schizoid personality disorder
extreme disinterest in the lives of other people
- aloof or uncaring
- focused on their thoughts instead of others lives or the world
schizotypal personality disorder
personality quirks, bizarre ideas, or behaviors that may be viewed as strange or different
antisocial personality disorder
extreme self-interest and gain with little to no care of social norms
- exhibits manipulative behavior
- common to have a criminal history
- can mimic emotions without actually feeling them to fool others
borderline personality disorder
difficulty in controlling and regulating emotions & a constant need for company
- unstable behaviors and feelings
- living between two extremes (happy & sad)
- feels like a different person from moment to moment
histrionic personality disorder
attention seeking (positive or negative)
- overblown emotions
- cannot go on without attention or approval
narcisisstic personality disorder
feelings of superiority over others
- grandiose visions of themselves
- demands praise and respect
avoidant personality disorder
sensitivity to what others say, think, or do, and results in a tendency to withdrawal from or avoid relationships
- extreme insecurity
- terrified of rejection
- criticism can lead to emotional spirals
dependent personality disorder
need to be taken care of constantly by someone else, needy, and avoids doing things independently
- low self-esteem
- helpless without others
obsessive-compulsive personality disorder
focused on being “perfect” (their version)
- does not realize their fears are irrational
