Pointing Devices
Used to move the pointer or curser on the screen.
Pen
Draw more accurately than a mouse.
Trackball
Move the ball with your fingers; often used by people with disabilities.
Touch Screen
Multi-touch screens also allow for gestures such as pinching; both input and output device.
Sensors
Built into mobile devices like smartphones.
Accelerometer
Detects movements such as screen orientation for games and auto-rotation of the screen.
Temperature Sensors
Prevent devices from overheating - it will turn off automatically if too hot.
Light Sensors
Auto adjustment for screen brightness; switches screen off when your phone is close to your ear.
Electronic Compass
Shows directions were the device is pointing.
