HARDWARE
What is input?
Input can be defined as the raw data and instructions that are given to a computer.
What is a program?
A set of instructions that is loaded into the memory when you run the program.
What are some examples of Inputs?
Keyboard
Mouse
Wireless mouse and keyboard
What is F1?
Opens a help screen.
When you hold the Windows key together with <E>, what happens?</E>
Will open your Files Explorer.
How does a mouse work?
By shining a light onto the surface it is moved on. Sensors can sense how the light is reflected and so detect in which direction and with what speed the mouse is being moved in.
What is plug and play?
Tech that automatically detects and configures the device that has been connected so that it can be used instantly.
What is outputs?
Is whatever the computer produces to provide us with the results of its processing.
What does HDMI stand for?
High-Definition Multimedia Interface
What does hard copy mean?
A printed copy.
What are the 2 types of printers called?
inkjet and laser
Characteristics of an Inkjet printer?
- Spray ink onto the paper.
- Cheap
- Ink cartridges are individually cheaper than laser cartridges.
- Good quality printouts.
- Slower than the laser printers.
Characteristics of a Laser printer.
- Work like a photo-copier machine – using toner instead of ink.
- More expensive.
- Are generally cheaper to run than inject printers when printing large volumes.
- Generally, print faster than inkjet printers.
Where do u connect a printer?
USB port.
What are examples of outputs?
- Monitors
