How does the Met Tower transmit data to the control room?
The Met Tower transmits data to the Control Rooms via VHF radio transmission to antennas located on the 43 foot level of the RAB.

The parameters monitored by the Met Tower are air temperature, wind direction and wind speed. The data points are located at 10 meters and 57.9 meters. Also monitored are differential air temperature between 10M and 57.9M, intake and discharge canal temperatures and discharge canal level. The temperature monitoring point at 33.5 meters is not used by the control room.

Verification that all channels are operable can be done by observing the Multipoint Recorder/Logger behind RTGB 101 to ensure all channels are tracking properly on the chart or by reviewing the 24 hour graph on the DCS monitor.
Describe the basic operation of the loose parts monitor detector.
The LPMS monitors the reactor coolant system (RCS) for internal loose parts. The system is designed to detect a loose part striking the internal surface of RCS components. The accelerometers are able to detect the mechanical vibration propagating from the point of impact and convert it into an electrical signal which is amplified in the system pre-amp, processed by the loose parts data acquisition system and recorded by the LPM computer.
List the location of the eight loose part accelerometers.
