Midterm Key terms Flashcards
which lung capacity is involved in denitrogenation?
FRC
how to caluculate “how many minutes till desaturation” I think we would be given FRC and pt weight.
In think the formula is
Minutes to Desaturation = FRC / VO2
VO2 is oxygen consumpsion VO2= kg0.75 x 10 (mlO2/min)
What’s the formula for anatomical deadspace and what is formula for deadspace ventilation
deadspace = 2.2 mL x pt wt in kg
deadspace ventilation VDANAT = deadspace x RR
what is the forumula for cabon dioxide production
Vco2 = V02 x (0.8)
How would you calculate the total ventilation required to remove the CO2 that is produced each minute
Note: this is simply minute ventilation (per Dr. Halls Ventilation lecture from CCC)
VE = VA + VDANAT
Ok I don’t know how the question will be asked but I would know that:
1 time constant = FRC / [VA x RR]
VA = [Vco2x PACO2] / PBAR (this is alveolar ventilation) or can be expressed as
**VA= VCO2 / FACO2 ** where FACO2 = PACO2 / PBAR (this formula is the fractional concentration of CO2 that exists in the lungs. (FACO2 generally = 0.058 )
what bone associated with the least amount of movement when taping an ETT
zygomatic
what is the molecular weight of O2
16 daltons
the atlanto-occiptal gap is normally about how many degrees
30-35 %
what is the volume of a cylinder ?
ETT is a cylinder
V = πr2L
L=length
