Israeli-Pakistani Conflict
in 1948, The UN (united nations) created the country of Israel after holocaust and WWII as Jewish homeland.
- The Muslim Palestinians who were living there were very upset
- fighting has occurred ever since-Gaza Strip and West Bank
Taliban in Afghanistan
In the 1990s, the Taliban formed to kick the Soviets (Russians) out of Afghanistan. When Taliban came to power, treated people horribly. After September 11 terrorist attacks, the US goes in and tries to get rid of Taliban. Still ongoing conflicts. US let terror group hide (Al-Qaeda - Osama bin Laden)
Arab Spring
2011- A series of countries in north Africa, then the Middle East, have revolutions to overthrow their government. Many use social media to organize. Facebook revolution. Some countries still working to be stable.
