Memory Items Flashcards
After disarming the autobrake during the landing rollout by pressing on the brake pedals, you realise that the brakes are not functioning.
What call and actions do you need to perform as PF ?
You call “Loss of braking” and do the following steps in that order:
- select Max REV
- release the brakes
- order the PM to select the A/SKID to OFF
- once A/SKID is OFF, press on the brake pedals (on a/c with a classic braking system type, do no exceed 1000 psi)
- if still no braking, use short successive parking brake applications to stop the aircraft

Spurious stall warning may sound in NORMAL law, if an angle of attack probe is damaged.
During the initial climb, once the flaps are retracted, you experience a birdstrike. Airspeed indications remain normal but you receive a stall warning. What are your actions ?
Call: “TOGA 15”
- THRUST: set to TOGA
At the same time:
- PITCH ATTITUDE: set to 15 ° nose up.
- BANK: ensure or set WINGS LEVEL.
Note :
When a safe flight path and speed are achieved and maintained, if stall warning continues, consider it as spurious.
Reference: FCOM/Abnormal and Emergency Procedures/MISC/Stall Warning at Lift-Off
If you receive a TCAS TA alert and TCAS blue does not engage, what will be your actions in case you receive a TCAS RA warning (PF actions) ?
- Call “TCAS I have control”
- Ask for “AP off” and “FD off” to the PM
- Follow RA instructions on PFD. Adjust or maintain the pitch to reach the green area of the vertical speed scale.
- Once clear of conflict, AP and FD can be reengaged.

While being PF, you receive a stall warning during climb, with flaps up, at an altitude of 9000 feet. What procedure do you apply ?
- Call “STALL, I have Control”
- NOSE DOWN PITCH CONTROL : Apply
- BANK : Wings Level
When out of the stall conditions :
- THRUST : Increase smoothly as needed
- SPEEDBRAKES : Check RETRACTED
- FLIGHTPATH : Recover smoothly
- FLAPS 1: Select

In case of a Loss of cabin pressure, what is the first memory item that must be applied by both cockpit crew members ?
To don their Oxygen masks
Who check the FMA during the EMER DESCENT procedure ?
Both pilots
In case of unreliable airspeed indication after lift-off, once the memory items are completed, when can you level off to start troubleshooting ?
Once at or above MSA or Circuit altitude.
If you receive a Reactive Windshear Warning after V1, as PF, what are you actions ?
- THR LEVERS : Set to TOGA
- Reaching VR : Rotate
- SRS Orders : Follow
If necessary the flight crew may pull the sidestick fully back.
Note :
If the FD bars are not displayed, move toward an initial pitch attitude of 17.5 °. Then, if necessary, to prevent a loss in altitude, increase the pitch attitude.

The OEB48 - Abnormal V Alpha Prot (only applicable to the A319 F-GPMF) require some memory actions to be performed. This OEB must be reviewed by the crew prior to operate on this aircraft.
Find next these actions and when to apply them.
AT ANY TIME, with a speed above VLS, if the aircraft goes to a CONTINUOUS NOSE DOWN PITCH RATE that cannot be stopped with backward sidestick inputs, IMMEDIATELY APPLY:
- ONE ADR………KEEP ON
- TWO ADRs…….OFF

In case of an EGPWS Caution such as “ TERRAIN TERRAIN” or “TOW LOW TERRAIN” or “TERRAIN AHEAD” or “OBSTACLE AHEAD”, in IMC or at night, what do you must do ?
You must treat it as a EGPWS Warning and complete the Terrain escape procedure.
Is a go-around mandatory in case of “TOO LOW GEAR” or “TOO LOW FLAPS” ?
Yes, always.
What must never be changed until clear of obstacle during an EGPWS Warning (all) or an EGPWS Caution (in IMC or at night) ?
DO NOT CHANGE CONFIGURATION (SLATS/FLAPS, GEAR) UNTIL CLEAR OF OBSTACLE.
In case of EGPWS Warning, what pitch attitude must be reached ?
Pull to full backstick and maintain in that position.
Once lined up on the runway for take-off in gusty wind conditions with some heavy showers of rain along with some CBs, the aircraft triggers a aural warning “WINDSHEAR AHEAD, WINDSHEAR AHEAD”. What must you do ?
Delay takeoff, or select the most favorable runway.
During cruise, you receive a CAB PR EXCESS CAB ALT warning but this is not confirmed on the CAB PRESS SD page.
Should you start the Emergency descent procedure ?
Yes, you must always rely on the CAB PR EXCESS CAB ALT warning.
