Q

What is the MOA of norepinephrine?

A

It acts on both A1 and A2 adrenergic receptors to cause blood vessel contraction. This thus causes a resultant increase in peripheral vascular resistance. It is a sympathomimetic drug used to treat patients in vasodilatory shock states such s septic or neurogenic shock, while showing fewer adverse side effects compared to dopamine.

Q

Which PPI cannot be used with clopidogrel and why?

A

Omeprazole, because studies have found a significant decrease in the platelet antiaggregation effect of clopidogrel when used concurrently with omeprazole. These effects were not sen with pantoprazole.
