Body of authoritative rules by which civilized society regulates the conduct of its members
Law
Comprises all laws, rules, doctrines and principles, legal opinions and decisions of competent authority regarding governance and regulation of the practice of medicine
Medical Jurisprudence
Guidance of human conduct, discovered by rational thinking of man
Natural law
Followed to make one closer to his Creator
Divine law
Enforceable by the dictate if one’s conscience to be the right conduct
Moral law
It prescribes the rights and obligations of person in their daily relation with each other and with society
Substantive Law
Concerned with mechanical rules that govern the means by which substantive rights and duties are enforced
Procedural law
Rules and regulations which regulate the relationship between state and subject. Concerned with the state in its political and sovereign capacity
Public law
Law that are punished as offenses against the state or government
Criminal law
Regulates the relationship and intercourse of the nations
International law
Law that governs the science of politics or the organization of the government
Political law
Law that regulates the relationships of individuals. Do not concern the public at large. Concerns with the definition, regulation and enforcement of right in his relation with other persons
Private law
Law concerned with relationship between individuals
Civil law
Rights of property and relations of persons engaged in commerce
Commercial law
Power of the state to promulgate rules and regulations for the interest of welfare, health, morale and safety
Police power
