Math Flashcards
Distance Formula
Distance Formula: d=√(x₁ – x₂)² + (y₁ – y₂)²
For example: Find the distance between points (6, 6) and (2, 3)
d=√(6 – 2)² + (6 – 3)² d=√(4)² + (3)² d=√16 + 9 d=√25 d = 5
Slope Formula
Slope = y₂ – y₁ / x₂ – x₁
For example: Coordinates = (-2, -1) (4, 3)
s = 3 – (-1) / 4 – (-2) s = 4 / 6 s = 2 / 3
Slope Intercept
For example: Slope = 2, Intercept point (0,3)
y = 2x+3
Area of Triangle
Area of Triangle: area = (1/2) (base) (height)
Pythagorean Theorem
a²+b²=c²
Area of Rectangle
length x width
Area of Parallelogram
area = base x height
Area of Circle
Area of Circle: π * r²
Circumference of Circle
circumference = 2π * r
Volume of Rectangle-Based Solids
length × width × height
Volume of Prisms and Cylinders
Area of the end shape × the height/depth of the prism/cylinder.
Volume of Cones and Pyramids
Area of the base or end shape × the height of the cone/pyramid × 1/3
Volume of a Sphere
4/3 × π × radius^3
