Materials & Textiles Flashcards
What are the characteristics of Crypton
stain, water, flame and bacteria resistant
cleanable and highly durable.
making it a good choice for retirement facilities and healthcare where durability and fire resistance are important factors.
The Crypton process may be used on other textiles such as carpet and leather.
WF-6, The Story of My Life
most flammable because it is 83% rayon, 17% polyester
WF-7 Memory
100% Trevira CS polyester, an inherently flame-retardant fiber
WF-2 Blumen
53% cotton and has 47% rayon
WF-1 Wool Check
100% wool, which is naturally flame-resistant, and self-extinguishing
Describe the Characteristics of Rayon
Rayon is a regenerated cellulosic fiber. It has very poor resistance to sunlight and poor resiliency. It has high absorbency, low resistance to water and moisture, and is flammable.
What are Cellulosic Fibers?
Cellulosic fibers include semi-synthetic fibers produced from plant cellulose (typically wood pulp) that undergoes extensive processing and is regenerated into a fiber form. Other common cellulosic fibers include acetate, triacetate, rayon, lyocell, and modal.
Which ceiling system would you use to accommodate acoustical ceiling tile, light fixtures, supply and return air grilles, fire sprinklers and partition attachments in a consistent, unified way?
integrated ceiling system
suspended ceiling systems specifically designed to accommodate acoustical ceiling tile, light fixtures, supply and return air grilles, fire sprinklers, and partition attachments in a consistent, unified way.
Acoustic glass is also known as:
Acoustic Glass
Changing a ceiling from gypsum wallboard to acoustic tile would most affect the room’s
reverberation
Changing from wallboard to acoustic tile affects the total absorption of a room and thereby changes the reverberation time.
