Marsanne, Roussanne, & blends Flashcards
Saint-Joseph Blanc ‘Grand Angle’, Thomas Farge
Made from a selection of Old Marsanne (70%) complemented with Roussanne (30%). 50% of the blend is aged on the lees in 400L barrels for 10 months and the other 50% in stainless steel.
It offers a vibrant nose combining white flowers, citrus, and minerals. The palate is driven by vibrant acidity. White fruits, matcha tea, and crushed rocks.
Crozes-Hermitage ‘Les Terres Blanches’, Dom. Belle
The wine rests on the lees for about a year before bottling. This is an extraordinarily rich white wine, with silky textures and round, dry, mineral-laced flavors.
A fresh and fruity white with notes of cooked lemons, yellow plums, white flowers and a touch of toast, too. Medium body with fresh acidity. Good texture and vivacity on the palate with some white pepper towards the fruity finish.
Saint-Joseph Blanc ‘Grand Angle’, Thomas Farge
Made from a careful selection of old vines from 40-70 years old planted on pure granite. A brighter style, it is aged in 400L barrels for 12 months then 2 months in tank.
It offers a vibrant nose combining white flowers, citrus, and minerals. The palate is driven by vibrant acidity. White fruits, matcha tea, and crushed rocks.
Cháteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc, Famille Isabel Ferrando
Aged for six months in large oak barrels, one third of which is new, one third is one year-old barrels, and the last third is two year-old barrels. The wine is not racked during the six months. Clairette gives a lot of freshness.
The 2021 Blanc bursts with delightful aromas of honeysuckle, yellow apple, lemon and lime zest, white peach, melon and a pinch of pineapple. It is full-bodied, pure and precise, balanced by lively acidity and ending distinctively sapid.
