- pre: hypotension, sepsis, HF, meds (ACEi etc.)
- renal: acute tubular necrosis, nephrotoxic meds, GN
- post: urinary obstruction/ retention

low UO during call
background
obs
fluid balance
ask for: bladder scan, flush catheter or change
low UO exam
obs fluid balance multi system exam hydration status exam (pulm/periph oedema) examine/flush catheter
low UO Ix
B: UE + VBG (acidosis/low bicarb/hyperkalaemia)
O: urine dip
X: bladder scan (if >500ml or true low UO, consider renal USS)
low UO Rx
catheter (relieve retention)
monitor fluid balance
flush catheter
stop renal excreted drugs
Rx cause: fluids for pre renal, relieve obstruction for post renal
fluid bolus + reassess (repeat bladder scan if no increased UO)
