The namea come from the word “talag”, which means the act of hammering metal to flatten, smooth, or shape it. This likely refers to the livelihood that was once common in the area.

It got its named because the land used to be rocky and hard, located on the top of hills.

Established in 2011. Named after a tree that once abundant in the area.
Canumay East
Named after the abundance of a citrus fruit native to the Philippine that thrived in the area during earlier times.
Barangay Dalandanan
Named after a beautiful girl named Lingap who lived in a small village.
Barangay Lingunan
Based from an old tale. There placed used used to have a small stream which was inhabited by plenty of leeches.
Barangay Malinta
Derived from the word “pasol” a traditional fishing tool. And “sulo” meaning torch, thats used to guide fishermen.
Barangay Pasolo
This barangay is named after a tree that produces small, grape like fruits known for their medical properties. It is also a large barangay.
Barangay Bignay
Its name comes from “maraming puntod”, meaning “many hills”, reflecting its terrain.
Barangay Punturin
Is derived from the spanish word “corner” which is situated in the corner of barangay’s Malinta and Pasolo.
Barangay Rincon
This barangay’s name is linked to the plant _ , a type of rattan, used to be abundant in the area before urbanization.
Barangay Palasan
The youngest mayor in Valenzuela used to hold residence in the area. Its name is translated to “island”

From the legend that a wealthy spanish man paid 20 reales for the land.
Barangay Viente Reales
Namesake came from the mace of _ trees that weed to distinguish the area.
Barangay Mabolo
Used to be part of Pulo, Bulacan. Twas founded by Padre Juan Monsod.
Barangay Poblacion
This place is found in the northern end of Valenzuela. In earlier records only 20 families lived in the area.
