Limits of stability
Maximum sway in any direction where the COM stays within the BOS
Center of pressure
Location of the ground reaction force vector and sum of external forces on the plantar surface of foot
What is the ideal COP during normal postural alignment?
Center of pressure would be directly between each foot on the ground
How does the COP move with the COM in an anterior weight shift?
COP moves towards front of foot

COP moves to outer portion of foot

They may shift their hips or upper body rather than just shifting weight in their feet
