Ligjt dependant reaction Flashcards
1st step
light strikes chlorophyll of PSII exciting the electron pair
2nd step
electrons go down from PSII, energy released through series of redox reactions
3rd step
hydrogens go into the lumen creating a concentration gradient with hydrogen
4th step
hydrogen must go through ATP synthase to flow down concentration gradient (Lumen to Stroma)
5th step
energy released by down gradient flow of hydrogen, reduce ADP to ATP
6th step
electrons enter into PSI and excited by light again
7th step
electrons excited an PSI are passed down an ETC, redox reactions release energy
8th step
energy released is used to reduce NADP+ to NADPH (H for Hi)
9th Step
energy carried ATP and NADPH to the dark reactions
10th step
electrons, hydrogen are replaced by photolysis, which also releases O2
(Light splits water, releasing protons, electrons, and oxygen humans breathe)
Chemiosmosis
process of hydrogen diffusing across thylakoid membrane (lumen to stroma) Uses ATP synthase
