Define liberal Christian
a movement that interprets Christian teaching by taking into consideration modern knowledge, science and ethics. They believe the bible stories are myths with meaning.
Liberal Christian view on the creation story (+ big bang)
The would believe that the story is a myth but they take the meaning that God is the source of everything (all existence) for them the six days just represent six long periods of time that it took god to created everything. They would believe that God is the cause behind that big bang singularity.
Liberal Christian view on evolution
They would believe in it . They would say that the process he called good in the bible was the process he begun where animals could survive, adapt and thrive
Liberal Christian problem
If God created humans in his image why were we originally apes because Christians believe that animals do not have any soul and do not think. Therefore, at what point did we become Gods image
How would a liberal Christian (and me) answer the question
They would believe that Science and religion both deal with the truth but Science deal with how things happen whereas Religion deals with why things happen. Science cannot answer ‘why’ questions, only religion can. So therefore, they can work with each other.
