What is a religious practice?
A formal action performed because of a belief, ie. eucharist.
What is a sacrament?
- Sacraments are holy rituals where believers recieve a special gift of grace
What is God’s special grace?
- He will forgive anyone who participates in trying to find it.

Why are practices important?

What is baptism?
- A Christian practice that symbolically shows the removal of sin and reciecing God’s grace.
Give 3 reasons why people do infant baptism.
1.) Removes original sin
2.) Allows child to be welcomed into Church ASAP.
3.) They want their child to be raised as a Christian.
Who promises that they will bring up the baby as Christian?
- Parents and Godparents promise.
What is infant baptism?
- Where someone is baptised as a baby.
- The parents promise to raise baby as Christian.
What is believer’s baptism?
- When an adult is baptised
- They make decision to devote life to Jesus.
Give 4 reasons why people do believer’s baptism.
- Important for people to make own decision.
- Decision to live life devoted to Jesus saves them.
- Follow the example of Jesus.
- Shows public comittment of faith
What happens at Catholic baptism?
- Priest pours water from font
- Priest pours water on head three times.
- Reject Satan and profess faith
- Child welcomed into Christian community
What happens in believer’s baptism?
- Person fully immersed in water.
- Person says brief testimony in belief in Jesus.
What does full immersion in water in believer’s baptism symbolize?
- Symbolizes cleansing from sin and rising to a new life with Christ.
