If a condition that has not been previously assessed by the practitioner of record, the PT shall have the practitioner review and sign the plan after 30 days of treatment.
Are the use of roentgen rays, radium and electricity for surgical purpose under the scope of PT?
No
Can PTs do spinal manipulation?
No, only chiropractors can.
How many board members are there? Who do they include? How are they appointed?
7 members appointed by the Governor and subject to confirmation by the Senate.
5 are licensed FL PTs in good standing. 1 of which may be a full-Tim faculty member. 2 laypersons who have never been licensed health care providers. Terms of 4 years.
What are the duties of the board?
- Administer oaths
- Summon witnesses
- Take testimony
- Establish minimum standards of practice
- Review standing of PT schools
What are the PT licensing requirements?
- 18 years old
- Good moral character
- Graduated from accredited PT school
- Received diploma from foreign school deemed equivalent to US school
- Passed test
