Lecture 9 - Review Flashcards
What is the name of the supporting cell that myelinate CNS neurones?
Oligodendrocytes
How many axons can Oligodendrocytes myelinate?
How many axons can a Schwann cell myelinate?
Oligodendrocytes = many axons
Schwann cells = 1 axon
What forms spinal nerves?
Ventral and dorsal nerve roots
What are rami?
The branches following on from spinal nerves
What do ventral rami form??
Limb plexi
What do dorsal rami for?
Project posteriorly and supply erector spinae and midline of back
What does the meningeal ramus supply?
Supplies meninges
What is the composition of spinal nerves, Ventral rami . And dorsal rami?
Motor and spinal roots
What is the composition of meningeal rami?
Just sensory roots
What connects to ventral rami?
Sympathetic ganglia
What 2 structures connect sympathetic ganglion to ventral rami?
Grey ramus communicates
White ramus communicates
What is the striatum?
Caudate nucleus and Putamen
