Q
What structures are in upper respiratory tract?
A
Nasal cavities
Nasopharynx
Oropharynx
2
Q
What structures are in lower respiratory tract?
A
Larynx Trachea Bronchi Bronchioles Terminal bronchioles Respiratory bronchioles alveolar ducts alveolar sacs alveoli
3
Q
what is the conduction portion?
A
- delivers air to respiratory tissue
- conducting airways include nose, pharynx, larynx, trachea, bronchi and bronchioles down to and including terminal bronchioles
- these parts of the system: warm, moisten, and filter the air before it reaches the respiratory tissue
4
Q
what structures are in the conducting portion?
A
Nasal cavity until terminal bronchioles
5
Q
What is the respiratory portion of tract?
A
where exchange of gases takes place
- includes respiratory bronchioles, alveolar ducts, alveolar sacs, alveoli
- these parts are intrapulmonary and contain alveoli
6
Q
what structures are in respiratory portion?
A
Respiratory bronchioles to the alveoli
7
Q
what is lung development an indication of?
A
Whether the foetus will survive or not
8
Q
What is trilaminar embryonic dis made of?
A
3 germ layers ectoderm, mesoderm and endoderm
9
Q
what is endoderm made up of?
A
responsible for formation of GI tract
