Lecture 3 Flashcards
What are wire gauges?
different types of connectors depending on the systems voltage and amperage
What are the different types of boards?
Solderless Breadboard, stripboard & print circuit board
What is Soldering?
A process in which two or more metal items are joined by melting and then flowing a filler metal into the joint.
What is a analog device?
Uses analog signals, uses ADC to convert to digital
What is a digital device?
Use digital signals, using a ADC making them easier to interact with.
What is an input device?
Sends data to computer for processing
What is an output device?
takes data from a system
What is a 12c and SPI sensor
Sensor’s used to communicate to MCU.
What is Pulse-Width Modulation?
a method of changing the average power delivered by electrical signal by breaking it into discreate parts of varying durations.
What is the difference between a DC, servo and stepper motor?
DC: rotates infinitely due to permanent magnets
Stepper: not permanent magnets and good for positional control
Servo: cannot do a full rotation, good for locks
