Q

Vestigial Structures

A

features that are inherited from ancestors but have little or no use in the current generation
- reduced in size and function

Q

How does homology = proof of evolution

A

similarities of traits in 2 or more species suggesting a common ancestor
- homologous/analogous
- vestigial structures

Q

How does biogeography = proof of evolution

A
  • species that are distrubted overtime, why they are, and what patterns drive them to separation
  • geographic changes
  • Australia = unique animals bc it is an island

Q

How does domestication show proof of evolution

A

how artifical selection is successful and how humans act as NS to select for traits that they want
- dogs were domesticated from wolves
- artificial selection leading to drastic changes over generations
