Coercive power
Power through fear of losing a job of responsibility
Reward power
Power through rewarding compliance by giving bonuses, time off, pay rises, promotions
Legitimate power
Power dictated through the organisational structure by having the leader at the top
Expert power
Power comes through skills and expertise
Referent power
Power through being trusted and respected
