What is alliteration?
Two or more words that begin with the same letter. e.g. blue building
What is personification?
Giving objects human traits.e.g: the tree stood in the forest.
What are emotions?
Describing emotions in the character. e.g. She jumped with joy.
What is a simile?
A comparison using like or as. e.g. He left like he was a ghost.
What is sensory language?
Describing the 5 senses. e.g. The sweet smell of freshly baked cake wafted into the room.(smell)
What are triples?
A list of three words or phrases. e.g. It was a hot, breezy, sunny day.
What is onomatopoeia?
A word that imitates a sound. e.g. Bang!
What is a metaphor?
A comparison where you say something is something else. e.g. She was a ghost.
What are facts?
Something thats true. e.g. Grass is green.
What is pathetic fallacy?
The weather setting the scene in way that reflects the mood or atmosphere. e.g. The rain poured as lightning struck. He waited at the bus stop with out an umbrella.
What is an opinion?
Your personal thoughts on something. e.g. I like snow
What is a rhetorical question?
A question that doesn’t need to be answered because the answer is implied. e.g. How would you feel if you were a dog stranded on the street?
What is repetition?
Saying something many times for emphasis. e.g. Don’t you want me baby? (chorus of a song)
