what do positivist argue is ‘out there’?
measurable objective social reality
how do positivist regard experiments - especially lab?
reliable - bc they can be repeated exactly allowing previous findings to be checked
why do positivist like experiments for data?
quantitative and scientifically collected
what do interpetrivits claim experiments dont do?
translate easily to the study of social behaviour and dont produce high validity
