Human Stage
-Trypomastigotes penetrate cells transform into amastigotes
-Multiple by binary fission in cytoplasm of cell
-Amastigotes tranfrom into trypomastigotes, then burst out of the cell enter bloodstream
-Can also infect other cells and the patter will just repeat its self in a new infection site
Bug Stage
-Bug takes a meal
-Epimastigotes in midgut
-Multiply by binary fission
-Move to rectal wall and transfer into infective trypomastigotes in hindgut
-Bug takes blood meal, it enter by feces getting into the bite wound
Genus Leishmania
Human Stage
-Promastigotes are phagocytized by macrophages
- promastigotes transform into amastigotes inside the phagolysosome
-Multiply in macrophage
-If ruptures realeses amastigotes, another macrophage will ingest it
Fly Stage
-Fly takes a blood meal
-Release of amastigotes
-Transfom into promastigotes stage in midgut
- Adhere to gut wall, multiply, detach, move to proboscis
-Sand fly takes blood meal giving into human
