Colors and meanings (there are 7)
Red - No/stop
Green - direction
Yellow - General Warning
White - Law or regulatory
Orange - Road Construction or repair
Blue - Driver services
Brown - Recreational
What are the shapes of the signs and meanings? (there are 9)
Octagon - Stop
Diamond - Warning
Rectangle - Regulations/Directions
Inverted Triangle - yield Right of way
Pennant - no passing
pentagon - school zones
Circle - railroad crossing ahead
Cross buck - actual railroad crossing
Shield - Route marker
Who goes first at an intersection?
Vehicles that reach intersection before you or a vehicle to your right
What do you do at a yield sign? who gets the right of way? What do you check for?
come to a full stop, right of way to pedestrians and other vehicles, check all directions
What are regulatory signs?
Rectangles, white background, and inform of traffic laws
What do warning signs look like and what is the purpose?
Yellow and diamond shape with black lettering than inform of special conditions or hazards ahead
What are route signs and what do they look like?
They look like shields and give out route and interstate numbers
What to do when traffic lights aren’t working?
Come to a full stop, use as a four way intersecion
What is a flashing red light ?
Drivers must come to a full stop, only go when road is clear and they have right of way

Solid white lines
Do not change lanes or pass, they mark boundaries
Yellow lines between two roads
