December 1837 - Mackenzie launched revolt in response to Lower Canada revolt. 1000 men gathered on Yonge Street, Toronto - planned to attack Family Compact property.
5th December 1837
Several hundred poorly armed rebels marched South on Yonge Street, exchanged fire with loyalists, most fled in confusion.
8th December 1837
Remaining rebels dispersed after loyalist reinforcements arrived in Toronto
