Bagenal and 1,750 men go from Newbry to Monaghan, they’re attacked on the way.
Bagenal’s supplies are diminished, can’t aid Monaghan.
27th May, return to Newbry - ambushed by Irish.
Bagenal has to stop before reaching Newbry, escaping via sea.

Events - Dunboy

A

Carew plays siege.
Constable of Dunboy, Macgeohegan, warns Curlew that a beach is trapped.
Curlew changes beach. Sets up cannon.
16th June - English siege of Dunboy, cannon used. Breaks the walls, Carew keeps firing, burrying 143 people.
58 executed in local market.
