What is an interface?
An interface defines how to communicate with an entity. It’s a specification of it’s methods and properties.
What does WAN stands for?
Wide area network. Large dispersed networks and usually means the internet, as a whole
What is a port?
It’s an address in a single machine, tied to a software. So there will be a piece of software running in a port.
What is a firewall? How does it usually work?
It’s a program that decides whether traffic coming or going from a device should be allowed. Usually it works by creating rules for which type of traffic is acceptable on which ports.
What is the purpose of a MAC address?
To identify a device in a LAN.
What is a network interface?
Communicating points for a computer. Each interface is associated with a physical or virtual networking device.
