A

It’s an address in a single machine, tied to a software. So there will be a piece of software running in a port.

What is a firewall? How does it usually work?

A

It’s a program that decides whether traffic coming or going from a device should be allowed. Usually it works by creating rules for which type of traffic is acceptable on which ports.
