Waht is a map?
A flat diagram of Earth’s surface.
What is an Atlas?
An orginized collection of maps.
What is a globe?
An exact replica of the earth.
What are map projections?
Daifferant ways of presinting a round earth on a flat surface. They always have distortion (changes in size or shape) and are always a world map.
What is an interruprted map projection?
Show accurate sizes and shapes but is bad for navigation and disttances. It is as if some one unpaeled a globe and made it flat, there are large gaps in the longitude.
What is a mercadure map prjection?
Shows accuret shapes and is good for anviagtion, but distrots sizes in extrem latitudes. Like the one on teh classroom wall. It is used for location. An intterurprted with the gaps closed, n&s are distroted. Equator= most accurate.
What is a Gall-Peter’s map projection?
Show accurate sizes but has distroted shapes. N&s =squished. Used for comparing sizes. Equator= pulled like n&s are in the mercator.
What is a Robinson map projection?
Shows mostly correct sizes and shapes, but has distroation along the edges. Is used a lot in education, bad for navigation. Has rounded edges.
What is a dicrectional indecator?
Tells wich ways ways n,s,w,&e are. Not all mpas have n pointing upwards.

What is a scale?
Represents distance between two points on a map.
What is an legened/ key?
Explanes what the symbols on a map mean. Colors onn a mpa can also be symbolic.
