Intro Flashcards
What is acceleration?
A change in velocity measured in m/sec squared
What is density?
Mass per unit volume measured in kg/m cubed
Force = ?
Mass x acceleration
Momentum =?
Mass x velocity
Work = ?
F x D
Force x Distance
Power = ?
F x D
——
Time
_______ must be present if power is used?
Speed
Speed = ?
Distance
————
Time
What are the two types of energy?
Kinetic Energy (ke)
Potential Energy
Pressure = ?
Force
——-
Area
What is Static Pressure?
Pressure that isn’t moving / pressure that is the direct result of the weight of atmospheric gases bearing down on the surface of an object.
What is Dynamic Pressure?
Pressure that is on the move / pressure in motion.
What is Total Pressure?
Static + Dynamic Pressure
What is Newtons 1st Law?
An object at rest stays at rest and an object in motion stays in motion with the same speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced force.
What is Newtons 2nd Law?
The acceleration of an object as produced by a net force is directly proportional to the magnitude of the net force, in the same direction as the net force, and inversely proportional to the mass of the object.
