SA hold a lot of influence through being part of the SADC but that does not mean that this is positive influence, they can be questioned on their authenticity.

- Being part of the UN allows countries to influence sanctions, peacekeeping and military action
- Being part of the UN empowers SA’s influence as they can voice their opinion and dictate some things which happens within the organisation
- SA are not one of the 5 permanent members of the UNSC which means they only hold that amount of influence for so much time
- They took a bold and confident move taking Israel to the ICJ which was a leading foot for other countries to voice opinions and act too
