App Locker
AppLocker advances the app control features and functionality of Software Restriction Policies. AppLocker contains new capabilities and extensions that allow you to create rules to allow or deny apps from running based on unique identities of files and to specify which users or groups can run those apps.
Assigned Access 8.1
Assigned Access is a setting that lets you restrict a specified standard user account to only use one Windows Store App when signed in. It’s also called Kiosk mode because you can restrict customers to only use one app on your PC.
BitLocker
BitLocker is a computer hard drive encryption and security program released by Microsoft Corporation as a native application in its Windows 7 Enterprise and Ultimate editions, Windows Vista Enterprise and Ultimate, and Windows Server 2008, R2 and 2012 operating system versions. It is a drive security and encryption program that protects drive content and data from any offline attack.
BranchCache
BranchCache is a bandwidth-optimization feature that has been available since the Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows 7 operating systems. Each client has a cache and acts as an alternate source for content that devices on its own network request.
BranchCache has two operating modes: Distributed Cache mode and Hosted Cache mode.

Clean Installation
In a clean install of an OS, the hard disk is formatted and completely erased. In a clean install of an application, the older version is uninstalled first. Installing an OS on a new computer or installing an application for the first time is automatically a clean install.

Microsoft Client Hyper-V is a type-1 hypervisor for the Windows 8.x and Windows 10 operating systems (OSes) that allows users to run multiple operating systems inside a virtual machine (VM).
Cloud
A term used to describe a global network of servers, each with a unique function. The cloud is not a physical entity, but instead is a vast network of remote servers around the globe which are hooked together and meant to operate as a single ecosystem.
Command Line Interface (CLI)
Command line interface (CLI) is a text-based interface that is used to operate software and operating systems while allowing the user to respond to visual prompts by typing single commands into the interface and receiving a reply in the same way.
Continuum
The user interface can adapt automatically depending on the situation.
Cortana
Cortana is Microsoft’s personal productivity assistant that helps you save time and focus attention on what matters most.
Credential Guard
A security feature that isolates users’ login information from the rest of the operating system to prevent theft.
Current Branch for Business
Deployed a few months after the CB (Current Branch) to ensure that it has been more thoroughly tested in the user environment.
Desktop PC
A desktop computer (or desktop PC) is a computer that is designed to stay in a single location.
Device Driver
A device driver or hardware driver is a group of files that enable one or more hardware devices to communicate with the computer’s operating system.
Device Guard
Device Guard is a Windows 10 security feature that enables virtualization-based security by using the Windows Hypervisor to support security services on the device. The Device Guard policy enables security features such as secure boot, UEFI lock, and virtualization.
DirectAccess
DirectAccess allows connectivity for remote users to organization network resources without the need for traditional Virtual Private Network (VPN) connections. With DirectAccess connections, remote client computers are always connected to your organization - there is no need for remote users to start and stop connections, as is required with VPN connections.
Encryption File System(EFS)
A functionality of the New Technology File System (NTFS) found on various versions of Microsoft Windows. EFS facilitates the transparent encryption and decryption of files by making use of complex, standard cryptographic algorithms.
Enterprise Mode Internet Explorer (EMIE)
Enterprise Mode, a compatibility mode that runs on Internet Explorer 11 on Windows 10, Windows 8.1, and Windows 7 devices, lets websites render using a modified browser configuration that’s designed to emulate either Windows Internet Explorer 7 or Windows Internet Explorer 8.
Graphical user interface (GUI)
A visual way of interacting with a computer using items such as windows, icons, and menus, used by most modern operating systems.
