usually within 5 days of URI [upper respiratory infection] (synpharingitic).
more common in men age 20- 30.
recurrent gross hematuria.

diagnosis?
A
normal serum complements.
mesangial IgA deposits seen in kidney biopsy.

prognosis?
A
usually benign.
possible rapidly progressive glomerulonephritis or nephrotic syndrome with worse prognosis.
