How many suspects can appear in a video identification?
Only one suspect shall appear in any set unless there are two suspects of roughly similar appearance, in which case they may be shown together with at least twelve other people.

If the suspect has an unusual physical feature, e.g., a facial scar, tattoo or distinctive hairstyle or hair colour which cannot be replicated on other members of the identification parade, steps may be taken to conceal the location of that feature on the suspect and the
other members of the identification parade if the suspect and their solicitor, or appropriate adult, agree.
What should be done if a witness identifies a suspect but the suspect claims the witness is mistaken and disputes that he is known to the witness?
The holding of an identification procedure will be required.
Who needs to give consent for an identification procedure when it involves a youth under 14?
Where a juvenile suspect is under 14 years of age, only the consent of the parent (or guardian) is required (Code D, para 2.12).
Who needs to give consent for an identification procedure when it involves a youth 14 or older?
If the juvenile suspect is 14 years or over, both the parent/guardian and the suspect must give their consent.
