IDEA 2 Flashcards
1) SALLY: How did you know?
TRISTAN:
If I tell you, you have to promise me you won’t tell a soul.
Because really and truly, Sally, these are trade secrets. I learnt it when I worked with Derek Troughton in Intelligence.
2) SALLY: Is there anyone you haven’t worked with?
TRISTAN:
Jesus. But, come to think of it, I’m not entirely sure he’s not my upstairs neighbour. Could’ve sworn I saw him drinking water one minute and next thing I know, it was wine.
(And then)
Joking, obviously.
(And then)
So, you promise?
3) SALLY: Of course.
TRISTAN:
(Whispered) I can read people’s minds.
4) SALLY: Tristan!
TRISTAN:
Sally!
SALLY:
Look, I’m trying to learn here and you’re just -
TRISTAN:
- Just what?
5) SALLY: God, it’s amazing people use you their lawyer when you’re this childish.
TRISTAN:
There is no secret, Sally. I am just extraordinary talented.
6) SALLY: And arrogant.
TRISTAN:
No. Observant.
(And then)
So often we find ourselves looking for the most complicated reason as to why or how someone did what they did.
But more often then not, the how, is so beautifully simple.
We study the most complex cases thinking that everything will be tricky to crack, but they’re not. (And then) It was a burner phone,
Sally. I mean, my god. It’s the oldest trick in the book and yet nobody saw it… apart from me.
7) SALLY: You’re honestly insufferable.
TRISTAN:
But that’s why you love me.
SALLY:
I work for you, there’s a difference.
TRISTAN:
Difference, shifferance - come on, drinks on me. Oh! And if you’re lucky, I’ll tell you how I figured out Stav Kostas was behind the cocaine ring in Bahrain…
