A

Disarmament conference 1933-Hitler asked other powers to disarm, when they refuse he withdrew from the conference and the league
Anglo-German Naval Treaty 1935-Allowed Germany to build a fleet one third the size of Britain’s and the same amount of submarines(Britain allowed Germany to breach the T of V and destroy the Stresa Front
German armed forces-German peacetime army increased in to 300,00O in 1933, new air ministry trained new pilots and build 1,000 aircraft, conscription was introduced and the army increased to 550,000

League was seen as weak after its failures in Manchuria and Abyssinia
Was able to exploit British sympathy with Germany
French could not stand alone against Germany

A

USSR lies east of Poland
Hitler planned to avoid a war on two fronts from the USSR
Britain and France wanted and agreement with the USSR too
Stalin chose to make an agreement with Hitler as he believed Britain and France wouldn’t stand up to Hitler and didn’t want Hitler to invade the USSR therefore he gained time to arm and got a portion of Poland
